Hi hi~
Welcome back to my series on gyaru and yukata!
In my first post, I gave an intro to what yukata is and shared plenty of inspo pictures. From magazine scans, I could see that the brand Sweet Angel - which seems to still be operating - made yukata directed at gyaru, and there were some really gorgeous DreamV ones as well!
Today, however, I'd like to touch on some well-known gal brands that released their own yukata lines - and there are quite a lot of them! This is by no means a comprehensive list, just a peek into some that I could find online.
Starting off we have this absolutely gorgeous yukata by Ma*rs! I've never seen anything like it.
Taking a closer look, that would be because they actually are using a dress with a lace top and accessories to make a yukata! This is seriously mind-blowing. You can even wear the dress normally!
An obi with the Ma*rs logo embroidered! How cute!
Some sparkly footwear to wear with yukata - called geta - that I think are from Ma*rs.
Up next is every manba gal's favorite, Alba Rosa!Yes, Alba Rosa - and Rote Rosa - released yukata, for both men and women! They are some of the most colorful and vibrant yukata that I've seen. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures of them being worn... but enjoy them nevertheless!
The iconic checkered Alba Rosa print... I would kill to have one of these in pink!
This is so vibrant; imagine this worn with manba make.
This is gloriously retro - almost Miami Vice vibes
I also found this men's yukata that is supposedly from XIII Japan, but I couldn't find anything else from them! I'm sure they're badass if they are out there.
I'm planning to do a post all about gyaru-o and yukata, so keep an eye out!
I couldn't find any yukata released by d.i.a., but how sick would it be to have a yukata with chain detailing? Somebody please DIY it~
Of course, my favorite Rady has also released quite a lot of yukata through the years! From the iconic marble and mille fleur prints to the florals, they've done it all
OMG... I'm being blown away by this Rady yukata being worn off the shoulders to highlight the Chanel necklace - such goals!
Sakurina's Riina Couture has done at least one yukata release that I could find. The rose pattern and the bag she's carrying gives it a great "East meets West" vibe.
There are so many stunning Liz Lisa yukata out there, but for some reason it is nearly impossible to find any worn pics of them or even pictures of them being displayed on mannequins! This was the best I could find.
(Side note: Liz Lisa has also released some incredible kimono, furisode, and hakama which warrant their own post. Maybe in the future...?)
Even Sanrio have released yukata for adult women!
That's all I have for today!
I hope you're enjoying this series and looking forward to the next installment
Until next time,
-Samii
