SamiiChu: Shop With Me: Gyaru Swimwear!

Hi hi~!

I hope you're doing well and enjoying this nice weather. It's almost time to hit the pool and the beach (or already is, if you're lucky!) and that means swimwear season!

I don't know about you but I'm personally ready to be lounging in the sun with a drink in my hand

As it just so happens I'm in the market for a new swimsuit this season, being lucky enough to have a pool at my apartment and a beach trip planned for later in the year. I spotted some beautiful bathing suits from brands like Lip Service and Rady, but unfortunately I'm always worried about Japanese bathing suits fitting me properly (especially since I couldn't find a bra with a band size big enough to fit my rib cage last time I was there) so I took to Shein to find a reasonable dupe.

First, some inspo pics to give an idea of what I was looking for:

And Gyaransu's swimsuit lookbook video also got me hooked on Lip Service swimsuits!

Obviously, I love the floral and white combo, and am drawn to the blue/purple/pink color scheme. I like suits that are flowy and feminine without being too revealing because I want to be able to wear them at my apartment's pool where there are families

So the first thing I did was search for "pink marble print bathing suit" in an attempt to get something that resembles the marble print that's so popular with the onee gyaru brands. You know, this one:

Well, I didn't find anything very promising at first glance, but wait a second -

Excuse me?!This looks so much like an Alba Rosa suit that I've seen before. On Shein. For $11 USD!!! I'm not the only one who sees it, right? I even searched for the exact bathing suit I was thinking of to make sure I wasn't crazy.

Alright, well that went straight into my cart ~~even though it's not what I was looking for...~~ If you're interested too, you can find it here!

Scrolling through didn't yield me any more successful results, so I decided to try different keywords. I searched "floral bathing suit" and found some cute results.

This is pretty, and the flowers give me DaTuRa vibes but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

Also pretty but I wasn't really feeling it. (Link here if you are!)

But then the "Customers also viewed..." section came to save the day!

OMG, this set is so pretty and the beautiful lavender color screams Rady! I love that it comes with a skirt wrap, too. Into the cart it went

And then I got hit with the "you might also like".

Blue is one of my favorite colors to wear and I can't help thinking I can recreate a Lip Service look with this by switching out the top for a white flowy one!

I have no idea what to do

I have all of them sitting in my cart right now and I keep going back and forth between them. I seriously CANNOT decide! ~~I wish I could buy them all but I am already buying way too much lately w~~

While I was at it, I searched for some accessories! I badly want a big sunhat this year, preferably in white. But I'd rather find it somewhere in stores so I can try it on and it doesn't get squished in the shipping process.

So, I searched for some big Rady-style celeb sunglasses!

These are perfect, right? Sady they sold out before I got a chance to buy

And I also need a beach bag. ~~Brought my real purse to the beach last year, do not recommend that.~~ There are so many fun and cute options that I nearly got distracted, but I remembered to stay on target and find a nice one that will go with both onee-style swimwear and the Alba-style one!

Someday I'll stop being cheap and splurge on a Rady one, but not today.

But then this one sold out too before I could purchase...

They still have other colors for sale, but I really want a white one to go with everything. I'll keep searching for one in person along with a sun hat!

There are also tons of lovely beach skirts and coverups on Shein, but I stopped there for now. Overall, this was really fun and I'd love to share more posts where I try to "get the look" for certain brands/substyles.
