New Hair & Thrifting Gets

 Yaho~!

I have some exciting news. This weekend I cut off all my hair!

I've been thinking about it for a while... it was so scraggly and ratty from too much at-home bleaching. It was so tough to work with and honestly, I was just tired of fighting with it.  

 I decided it was time for a change!

This was the photo I showed the hairdresser for inspo...

And this is how it came out!

I really liked it the day of the haircut, but then yesterday I realized it really changed my vibe - I'm having trouble getting used to it and figuring out how to style it! But I'm so happy all that dead and damaged hair is gone now. Time for a fresh start, I'm excited to learn some short hair styles~

After my haircut I wandered around a little bit and found a thrift shop in the town we just moved to. They had a few cute things and I ended up getting these two vests! One is (faux) fur and I absolutely couldn't resist it, and the other is reversible with soft leopard print on the inside. It's a little plain though so I got it with the intent to gyaru-fy it with some DIY.

In other news... I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos of old gal meets from a decade ago and it's making me so sad that I can't go back to that time - not that I had a circle or even was fully gal at that time, but still There were soo many gals in the gaijin community at that time and it looked so fun...  I want to go to a meet so badly, but no other gals really live close to me...

Ita Nails

 Hi hi~!

So I wanted to talk about a new interest of mine that is... sort of? gyaru related?? And that is...

ITA NAILS

Like an itabag, ita nails are when you show your raging love for a character or series, only with your nails!

It's basically being an otaku but looking fabulous while doing itWhich is totally my jam~

Ita nails range from crazy and over-the-top to "so subtle you wouldn't get the reference unless you really know". 

I'll share some of my favorite examples of the different types of ita nails I've seen lately~ (warning for incoming photo dump)

They often incorporate little 3D characters. Colors and designs are either chosen to go along with the character's/series aesthetic...

Or the character is added to an aesthetic that they match with!

Some people mix their favorite characters and mascots for extra adorable-ness...

Some write out the character's name!

Lol I loved this one, impeccable taste

Some include anime or manga art of the characters

simply writing the character's name

What do you think? Would you ever wear ita nails? What kind of designs would you implement? 

I love ita nails because you can incorporate them into a gyaru look - I've seen a few gals with them before, like Aochan (who is a huge Naruto fan, or at least used to be)

I'm working on a set right now that's pretty over the top that I started before we moved pff and I'm looking forward to sharing with you when it's done!

Casual Post | Weekend Looks

 Hi hi~

How are you?

This weekend was my fiance's bday and we finally got the chance to relax for the first time in 4 weekends (after moving, vacation, and traveling)

First things first, we brought home two new family members! Say hello to Maple (orange) and Honey (gray), both girls~

They have neighboring cages and they are settling in! Honey is super curious and outgoing, but Maple is extremely timid and shy and freezes every time she sees us. Hopefully she gets used to us soon!

On Saturday in the early afternoon we went out for a bit of shopping! Yu-chan was searching for some cards and we also hit up the mall. This was my look:

I felt super cute

I found the Forever 21 x Juicy collab! But it was $80 for a set up... and not only am I pretty broke right now, but my brain was telling me that I could get one from Rady for around the same price...

I found tons of cute stuff at Burlington - mostly Juicy, Guess, Bebe, and a Betsey Johnson bag that was a dead ringer for MA*RS that I posted on my insta story - but I managed to only buy one thing!

Some brown booties from G by Guess! They're going to go perfectly with some of the looks I have planned for fall 

Here was my look for taking Yu-chan to dinner for his bday!!

My make was based on a look Shi-chan was wearing in the Rady A/W 2014 catalog, only without bottom lashes because they totally hate me... I need to practice with them, but otherwise was super happy with how it turned out!

My co*de~ Dinner was great, I got a massive cocktail and there was a live jazz band

Today's co*de! We went out for a bit more shopping/errands, then went to the pub for another dinner. 

This was my make look... I was drawing some inspo from Mizukitty and Popteen looks from 2012 to match my himekaji vibe. I'm not sure I liked it that much and I think it's because I wasn't wearing lenses. I'm having allergies so my eyes are itching, and on top of that my lenses are getting old and starting to feel dry/itchy so I need to order some new ones... I'm thinking of getting some honey brown ones next!

That's all for today ~ I have to do some homework before I can relax, and then it's back to work tomorrow...
